New! Help Support Scholarship Opportunities by Joining the NLN Foundation Selection Panel
Help support scholarship opportunities for nurse educators by applying to join the NLN Foundation Scholarship Selection Panel, which will help review applications to determine awardees under the guidance of the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education and Selection Panel chair and co-chair. If you plan to apply for an NLN Foundation scholarship, complete your application by May 26. The NLN Foundation awards scholarships to nurses pursuing advanced degrees to advance their career as a full-time nurse educator. The funds are for master’s or doctoral students enrolled in accredited programs who have completed at least one full year of study by June 2022 and have completed program/project feasible (i.e. IRB approved for research, dissertation proposal defended, capstone project approved, QI or change initiative approved). Learn More

New dates! This two-day presentation will focus on using the 4Ps Model of Telehealth, a tool developed by the presenter, Dr. Carolyn Rutledge. Day 1 will provide a telehealth overview and how to prepare students to function in this new environment. Health Care Simulation Expert to Deliver Annual Spunt Lecture at NLN Summit
Respected educator, researcher and mentor in health care simulation education Dr. Kim Leighton will be the featured speaker at this year’s Debra L. Spunt Memorial Lecture, funded by Laerdal Medical, at the 2022 Education Summit at The Mirage in Las Vegas. In her talk, titled Nursing Education at a Crossroads, Dr. Leighton will describe ways to transform nursing education to integrate lessons learned from simulation research into traditional clinical instruction—lessons that would improve woefully inadequate learning outcomes and better prepare new nursing graduates for practice. Register to Attend

CNEA Leader Earns High Honor for Her University Career
Congratulations to Dr. Teresa Shellenbarger, executive director of the NLN Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA), for being conferred the title of Distinguished University Professor Emeritus by Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she had served as Distinguished University Professor and Doctoral Program Coordinator. During her 30 years of classroom and clinical teaching across various programs and levels of nursing education, she has established a reputation as an expert educator, mentor, and respected leader advocating for excellence in nursing education. Learn More

A Correlational Study Examining the Relationship Between Resilience, Anxiety, and Stress in Nursing Faculty in the U.S. During COVID-19
